No Tour For No Doubt

40th Anniversary American Music Awards - Arrivals

Well, this isn’t the greatest sign.

No Doubt has decided to “postpone” the tour for their latest album Push and Shove in order to go back to the studio to record new music for an all new album.

The info was released yesterday and while many of their fans might see this as a good thing, keep in mind that their last album was only released within the last six months (the end of September 2012, to be exact).

“We [entered the studio] in January and the new music started flowing with unexpected ease. After spending three years recording the last album, this new pace feels incredibly exciting,” the group explains via their Facebook.

“We have decided to follow our muse for the time being and focus on this new music that we don’t want to stop. So, we will be postponing our tour plans briefly while we endeavor to create something special and inspired. Our goal as a band is to share this new music with you as quickly as possible – both recorded and live on tour.”

The album itself hasn’t done too well — with only two singles released and the video for the second single (“Looking Hot”) being cancelled due to controversy.

Maybe they’ll do better this time around. Or maybe not.

No Doubt Not “Looking” So “Hot”

Remember when music videos were called banned for being too sexy and yet, still aired?

Unfortunately, we live in different times now where one mention of being inappropriate for any reason can get your work canned.

Case in point: rock band No Doubt released a video for their single, “Looking Hot” on Friday. But you may have not even known that considering the group decided to remove it from the internet only hours later.

More info after the jump.

The First Music Video From No Doubt In 10 Years

I can’t believe how much I missed these guys.

As mentioned yesterday, the music video for “Settle Down”, No Doubt‘s first new single in a decade, premiered on E! last night. The single, the first from their upcoming Push and Shove album was directed by Sophie Muller, who has been behind the camera of many No Doubt videos (as well as Gwen Stefani’s solo work).

Check out the awesomeness above. I have the feeling this is going to be a huge summer jam! Welcome back, guys!

Push and Shove hits stores September 25th.

“Settle Down”, People: No Doubt Are Back!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hJhS_tHe9M

Finally!

After quite the long hiatus which included solo albums from Gwen Stefani, marriages and babies, rock group No Doubt have released the first single from their upcoming album, Push and Shove.

The single, “Settle Down” was released earlier today and it definitely brings you back to their amazing sound, which hasn’t been heard in it’s original form since 2001′s “Rock Steady” (the group has released two covers since then; 2003′s “It’s My Life” and 2009′s “Stand and Deliver”, but nothing they personally created).

You can check it out for yourself here. The video premieres tonight on E! and their album, Push and Shove is set for release on September 25th.

Separated at birth: Eva Marcille Pigford, Chrisette Michele

eva_chrisette

Separated at birth? Grammy Award winning R&B artist Chrisette Michele (at right) kinda sorta looks like America’s Next Top Model winner Eva Marcille Pigford. Michele, 26, recently had a turn at covering No Doubt’s Don’t Speak for the Pepsi Smash music series exclusively on Yahoo. It’s a sort of jazzy version and shows the versatility of a classic No Doubt anthem. Thoughts?
