The Return of Mother Monster

She’s ba-ack!

The one and only Lady Gaga is slowly, but surely getting back to performing after undergoing hip surgery back in February.

The extravagant singer took the stage in an impromptu performance Thursday night at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City.

Turns out a good friend and collaborator, jazz musician Brian Newman was performing there that evening and she surprised the crowd by joining him for a rendition of “Someone To Watch Over Me”.

“Thanks to the 1&only @ladygaga for coming out to @GPHhotel tonight an singing a song!!” Newman tweeted after the show at the Rose Bar.”

The “Marry the Night” singer and the bandleader are close pals as the latter is best known as Lady Gaga’s go-to-jazz player having performed with her on the Today show, ABC’s A Very Gaga Thanksgiving as well as in the studio. The hitmaker has also been known to drop in on his shows in the past, including a 2011 appearance at the Oak Room.

No word on when she’ll head back to her full-on spectacles on-stage, but it looks like the world will be hers for the taking once more very soon.

Welcome back, Gaga!

Lady GaGa Will Return Soon

GagaGeek

The hardest working woman in pop music, Lady Gaga is working effortlessly to get back on her feet following a hip injury that sidelined her and effectively cancelled the rest of her Born This Way Ball, but the 25-year-old’s manager, Vincent Herbert relayed that the star is “doing wonderful” and is set to get back to her greatness quite soon!

According to [Herbert], the hitmaker is “ready to get back to work” finishing up recording her latest album, ARTPOP, which she began writing during the Born This Way Ball tour.

“I can’t wait for the world to hear her new music and see her come back healthy, strong and better than ever,” [he] said.

He also mentioned that the work on her upcoming fourth album, ARTPOP, is “very, very refreshing” and that the phenom continues to “push the envelope” on it.

Glad to hear it! Can’t wait to see you on stage once more, Mother Monster!

Lady GaGa’s “Hip” New Ride

tumblr_mjikzp3AU61qa42jro1_500

Even while injured, Lady GaGa knows how to get around in style.

The Born This Way singer is still recovering from hip surgery that sidelined her tour about a month ago, but the woman born Stefani Germanotta is proving that she’s still just as fashion forward as ever by riding around in a 24-karat-gold plated wheelchair.

That’s right — she ain’t half-assin’ this injury either.

In a shot posted via close friend Terry Richardson’s blog (the same guy who posted the video of the Backstreet Balls Boys’ shenanigans), the 24-year-old look fierce in the wheeled helper that was designed by stylist Ken Borochov.

“I certainly wasn’t expecting that phone call and have never done a wheelchair”, he shared with MTV, “but am always up for a challenge and was thrilled to create what I affectionately dubbed the Chariot, a chair fit only for a queen.”

All praise the Gaga!

A Thankful Mother Monster

GaGaTwitter

You would think after such a major surgery, she’d take the time to rest up. But then, you probably don’t know Lady GaGa very well.

Following a  surgery to repair a tear in her hip that will keep her off the road and stage for some time, the woman known affectionately by her fans as Mother Monster sent them a quick update via her fan site, filled with sincerity and appreciation for their thoughts.

“Monsters, You really gave me a lot of strength today. Everything happened so fast, but when it came time to face it I reflected on the many stories and experiences you’ve shared with me about your lives.”

“As they wheeled me into surgery today”, the 28-year-old continued, “I thought about all of your pain and perseverance… sometimes you are so brave that it terrifies me. I wonder how it’s even possible.”

However, she did get through it with their love and thanked them for their never ending support, adding that if she could get through something like this, she (and they) could “get through everything”.

Yeah, she kind of overkills everything she does, but you can’t deny that she’s grateful — unless you’re a former assistant. Then, you’re nothing.

You can read the full note after the jump.

Lady Gaga Doesn’t Listen — But It’s Understandable

GaGaFanRadio

You didn’t think something like being paralyzed for a day would keep her down, would you?

Even though she had to cancel her tour for a surgery that will repair a tear in her hip, Lady Gaga’s heart wouldn’t keep her down and she found herself visiting a young sick fan in a hospital in hopes to bring her a little cheer.

Wednesday afternoon, the Born This Way singer visited 5-year-old Kayleigh Gurbynski, who’d been diagnosed with a hypoplastic left heart and Turner’s Syndrome. Little Kayleigh had hoped to see Mother Monster’s show on Wednesday and traveled all the way from Wisconsin to Chicago — only to find that the show, as well as the rest of the entire tour, had been cancelled.

The meeting, which happened in Chicago, had reportedly been orchestrated by local radio-show host Tony Waitekus, who reached out to Gaga’s camp to see if the eager Little Monster could score some face time with Mother Monster.

And even if the show didn’t go on, Gaga’s get-together with Kayleigh did—a poignant moment that Waitekus chronicled on his radio station’s Facebook page.

Well, you just can’t complain over that one — she may severely overwork herself, but as you can see, her heart is in the right place.
