The young cast member of MTV’s Buckwild who was found dead yesterday will have his funeral expenses covered by the channel.
Shain Gandee, who succumbed to the fumes of carbon monoxide when his 4-wheeler got stuck in a muddy ditch while “mudding” with his uncle, David Gandee and mutual friend, Donald Myers, will be laid to rest on Sunday in a public memorial.
Parallel Entertainment CEO J.P. Williams — who produces the show with Zoo Productions — tells us, “Shain was a great kid with a big heart who had endless love for his mom and dad.” He adds, “I am from West Virginia and this show reminded me of how I grew up.”
It seemed as if the money Shaine made from Buckwild wasn’t much and his family were having problems coming up with funding for a funeral. Several donation websites went up to help, but now that the problem has been dealt with, the money raised will go toward the expenses brought on from the recovery effort and anything left over will go to the funerals of David’s uncle and friends.
The partial autopsy given to the three men solidified what was already known: the deaths were accidental due to carbon monoxide poisoning, coming in from the truck’s tailpipe being blocked off by mud.
Our condolences continue to go out to their families and loved ones.
