MTV To Cover “Buckwild” Funeral

The young cast member of MTV’s Buckwild who was found dead yesterday will have his funeral expenses covered by the channel.

Shain Gandee, who succumbed to the fumes of carbon monoxide when his 4-wheeler got stuck in a muddy ditch while “mudding” with his uncle, David Gandee and mutual friend, Donald Myers, will be laid to rest on Sunday in a public memorial.

Parallel Entertainment CEO J.P. Williams — who produces the show with Zoo Productions — tells us, “Shain was a great kid with a big heart who had endless love for his mom and dad.” He adds, “I am from West Virginia and this show reminded me of how I grew up.”

It seemed as if the money Shaine made from Buckwild wasn’t much and his family were having problems coming up with funding for a funeral. Several donation websites went up to help, but now that the problem has been dealt with, the money raised will go toward the expenses brought on from the recovery effort and anything left over will go to the funerals of David’s uncle and friends.

The partial autopsy given to the three men solidified what was already known: the deaths were accidental due to carbon monoxide poisoning, coming in from the truck’s tailpipe being blocked off by mud.

Our condolences continue to go out to their families and loved ones.

The “Blade Runner” Murder Case: He’s Doing What?!

Golden Gala 2008 - Press Conference - July 10, 2008

Either he’s truly remorseful or he’s putting on one Hell of a show, but just when you thought the craziness surrounding Oscar Pistorius couldn’t get any weirder, the disgraced athlete who is charged with killing his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day is currently planning to have a private memorial for her.

The memorial given by the family of model Reeva Steenkamp took place last week while Pistorius was waiting to hear his fate on bail; his memorial will take place later on tonight in his uncle’s home, where he has been staying since he was released from jail over the weekend.

Oscar’s rep released a statement, saying, “Oscar specifically requested the memorial service as he continues to grieve and remains in deep mourning for the loss of his partner Reeva.”

The rep adds, “Since it is such a sensitive issue, Oscar has asked for a private service with people who share his loss, including his family members who knew and loved Reeva as one of their own.”

No word on if any members of Steenkamp’s family will be in attendance — but let’s just say I have a strong feeling they won’t.

Charlie Sheen’s Heart Continues To Grow

2008 ALMA Awards - Press Room

At this rate, if this is what hookers and blow seems to cause, then I say let the man have as much as he wants.

Perhaps it’s nothing more than a continued public mea culpa, but Charlie Sheen is still putting other famous people to shame with his generosity — he’s helped to pay for the funeral of Chris Guerra, the paparazzo who was killed while attempting to get a shot of Justin Bieber in his car.

In a odd connection, the Anger Management star is close friends to another pap who was friends with Guerra and after hearing that the family was having some trouble laying their family member to rest, decided to help out.

“A tragic incident like this erases the line between the photographer and the subject”, he said in a statement to TMZ. “It’s an unforgiving moment that begs us all to be human and work as one to prevent this in the future.”

“As parents, we are all not supposed to bury our children. My deepest condolences to the families involved.”

Wow, Charlie… wow. You’re kind of awesome.

Guerra will be laid to rest in a private ceremony tomorrow afternoon.

Rodney King’s Fiance Can’t Go To His Funeral

Cynthia Kelley, Rodney King‘s fiance, has been asked by his family not to go to his funeral, TMZ is reporting. King died last Sunday after drowning in his pool. He was 47.

According to them, not only has Cynthia not done anything for the funeral arrangements (to be held next Saturday in Hollywood), but there are members who are incredibly skeptical of her story because Rodney was always a “great swimmer”. There are also reports that before his untimely passing, he wanted to break up with Kelley because the relationship had gotten increasingly volatile.

Law enforcement insiders for TMZ told them that there is still no evidence of foul play and it’s being treated as an accident.
