She’s The Most Beautiful Woman? Really?

gwyneth-paltrow-named-world-beautiful-woman-2013

You’d probably consider actress Gwyneth Paltrow quite a few things: a mother to two of the most interestingly named children in life, a surprisingly decent singer married to a surprisingly boring decent singer, close friend to Beyoncé and Jay-Z (which is still just odd to take in)…

…. but the world’s most beautiful woman? That might be a stretch.

However, People Magazine would disagree with you: they’ve given the 40-year-old actress that title in their upcoming issue which also features other beauties such as Jennifer Lawrence, Kerry Washington, Amanda Seyfried, Zooey Deschanel, Halle Berry and Kelly Rowland — and surprisingly, she’s beat all of them.

“Around the house, I’m in jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t really wear makeup. That’s what they’re used to,” Gwyneth told the mag. As for her husband, Chris Martin, “He’ll make a joke about it. If I’ve gotten fully dressed up, he’ll be like, ‘Oh, wow! You’re Gwyneth Paltrow!’ Because he’s used to seeing me in like baggy shorts and frizzy hair.”

I guess I have to wonder: does she deserve the title or is this just a huge push for her appearance in the upcoming blockbuster Iron Man 3, set to hit theaters May 3rd?

Just sayin’.

Rebecca Black — No, Stay! Please Stay!

rebecca-blac-stay-cover

I already know, guys — that name strikes a massive fear in your heart.

But… and I can’t believe I’m going to say this… you need to check this out.

So after Rebecca Black pretty much ruined the best day of the week for us, she actually recorded a few more, less auto-tuned songs with people who didn’t write songs about days of the week. They weren’t stellar by any means, but the girl can somewhat hold a tune.

Recently, she and another YouTube performer Dave Days, collaborated on a cover of Rihanna’s song “Stay”.

And… I still can’t believe I’m saying this… but this doesn’t sound half bad.

Now obviously, the girl ain’t no Adele, Beyoncé or even a Rihanna — but truth be told, this version of Riri’s current single isn’t really horrible.

We’ll probably never forgive her for “Friday”, but everyone has a bad day song.

Check out the surprisingly interesting version of “Stay” after the jump.

Queen Bey Takes On Amy — Amy’s Father Didn’t Know It

It’s starting a bit early as we don’t even have an album or an actual official single out there yet, but Beyoncé is already managing to make people question how she’s getting the rights to certain songs.

In this case, its her and Andre 3000′s cover of Amy Winehouse’s amazing track, “Back To Black” for the upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio flick, The Great Gatsby.

Turns out there’s one person who actually had no idea the song would be “reimagined” for the movie: Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse.

“First I have heard about Beyonce and Back to Black”, he tweeted on Tuesday. “Sounds like some of you don’t like the idea.”

This isn’t the first time the wife of Jay-Z has done some questionable things to other people’s songs — she apparently attempted to add a word to the classic 90′s track “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan to give her a songwriting credit and then copyright the song. She also apparently tried to do the same to Alanis Morrissette’s “You Oughta Know”, which she used in live performances from time to time.

Of course, this may not be the same kind of thing, but even Mitch believes there should be some kind of mention or compensation for using the song.

“I don’t know this but what if Beyonce gave £100,000 [close to $152,000] to [the Amy Winehouse] foundation. Do you know how many kids that would help? Just putting it out there,” Winehouse wrote, before again stating, “Let me repeat. This is the first I have heard of Beyonce doing Amys song.”

So, he’s making it a bit obvious, but does he have a point?

Well, you can somewhat figure it out on your own. Head on after the jump to check out the just released trailer to The Great Gatsby, which uses a piece of Beyoncé’s cover of “Back To Black”.

Queen Bey To Take On Amy Winehouse

BeyonceInstagram

Not too sure on how I feel about this one.

It’s a rare feat for Queen Bey — you probably know her better as Beyoncé — to do something questionable in her career, but now, she’s taking on quite the  legend while recording a song for a soundtrack.

The singer is set to cover Amy Winehouse’s classic track, “Back To Black” for the soundtrack to the upcoming flick, The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

The “very different take” of the song will feature Outkast member Andre 3000, who worked with Beyoncé before on her single, “Party”.

The movie is set to hit theaters in May after being pushed from last Christmas.

Pink Is On Fire!

PinkGOF

There are certain artists who truly make you realize just how amazing music is.

The underrated Pink is definitely one of them for me.

Riding high off her much deserved number one album, The Truth About Love, the 33-year-old stopped by the BBC Radio 1′s popular Live Lounge and performed a few songs from the album and a cover of Alicia Keys’ current single, “Girl On Fire”.

To say this performance blew me away is putting it mildly. She takes the R&B track and adds a bit of rock flair and not only makes it her own, but somehow makes it untouchable. It’s a rare occurrence when someone takes something that doesn’t even belong to them and makes it spectacular… and she does it. And then some.

Check out the breathtaking performance after the jump. You will thank me later.
