The Lesser of Three Evils

CBS at 75

Drugs are bad, mmmkay?

A judge has granted temporary custody of Charlie Sheen’s two children with ex-wife Brooke Mueller to his other ex-wife, Denise Richards after Mueller recently re-entered rehab for substance abuse problems, according to reports.

The twin boys, Bob and Max, were removed from her home on Thursday, May 9th by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.

According to a source, the sometimes actress has been investigated by the Services for a year with claims that she would be gone from the home for “long stretches of time”.

The source added, “The boys have spent so much time with Denise that it was the logical choice that she would get temporary custody. Charlie is completely supportive of it and wants what’s best for the boys. Charlie will probably have a better relationship with the boys now. Everyone is glad they’ll have some stability.”

Brooke is said to be supportive of the move, as well as Charlie. Her rep claimed that she entered UCLA on Friday for “help for prescription drug abuse”, adding that she “misses her children and wants to get healthy so she can resume her life and get back to being a mom.”

Other reports have claimed that Mueller has since left UCLA and is now in recovery at the Betty Ford Clinic.

Yes, she’s there with Lindsay Lohan — although the two have said they haven’t interacted.

Let’s not consider those possibilities, OK?

Lindsay Does Somewhat Well, Still Pretty Screwed

I suppose if you’re a “glass half full” sort of person, you’d be one to say that Lindsay Lohan, despite her troubles — and where do we even begin to count there — had a pretty decent few days.

But of course, with LiLo, trouble is never too far behind, so she ended up where she usually does: between the corner of “Hot Mess” and “WTF”.

Following her sentencing to lockdown rehab (of which there is no such facility for her to possibly enter), the sometimes actress filmed an appearance on close friend (and failed mentor) Charlie Sheen’s new show, Anger Management. It seemed to start off surprisingly smooth for the 26-year-old: her first day on the set of the FX series had her actually showing up early, knowing her lines and hitting all the right marks.

The episode has her playing a character named… you guessed it, “Lindsay” who is ordered to Charlie’s anger management course as part of her community service, which eventually lands her in bed with him (anyone else seeing a recurring theme with these two)?

But the downside — she was accused later on of stealing clothes and jewelry from the set of the show, which she eventually claimed she bought herself.

Sadly, this was just the start of the week for her, so there were a lot more high and low points. You can head on after the break for more of the wacky hi-jinks.

LiLo Can “Win” Without Charlie’s Help

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 - G-Star Raw NY Raw Collection - Arrivals

Alright, so we all saw this coming — but there was no reason to be this rude about it.

Following a surprise offer from Charlie Sheen to take on a “mentoring” role in her life, Lindsay Lohan has given her thoughts on the situation, telling the actor that there’s no way she’d go to him for that kind of help and that he should shut up when it comes to her life in the media.

Yeah — because it was so clean before this, huh?

Sources close to LiLo tell TMZ … while she appreciates everything Sheen has done for her — and he’s done a lot — she would NEVER take him as a mentor. She’s saying she knows her life is “out of control,” but doesn’t think the precept, “It takes one to know one,” is the way to go.

She says she’s grateful Charlie gave her $100k for her back taxes and supported her in “Scary Movie 5.” Lindsay says she talks to Charlie from time to time … but gripes he has no business talking about her to the media.

LiLo is said to be working with a therapist that’s helping her to get on the right track that will last for a week.
No word on Charlie’s thoughts regarding Lindsay’s decision — but you know it’s coming.

Lindsay Gets Help — From Who?

FX Summer Comedies Party - Arrivals

OK, paying off a tax debt was pretty big of him — but hoping to actually set Lindsay Lohan on the straight and narrow?

Looks like Charlie Sheen, of all people, thinks he’s the right man for the job.

In an interesting statement to TMZ, the Anger Management actor (and her co-star in the upcoming Scary Movie 5) thinks he’s enough on the “winning” side of life to provide enough good measure to work out LiLo’s many life kinks.

“I have a kinship with somebody [Lohan] who clearly needs a mentor, whether she wants one or not,” the 47-year-old actor said. “She can continue to hang out with her dress shredding club buddies, or turn to me for some advice from a guy who’s been down the road as well as every other side trail on the journey.”

“If she listens, she’ll win,” he adds, “If she doesn’t, that’s on her.”

Doesn’t sound like he has much hope with her taking him up on this.

Of course, this offer of help has people wondering if there’s something a bit more gross intimate with the two, but Sheen put the kibosh on that instantly.

“I love her, I respect her, and I’ve never laid a finger on her that wasn’t on film,” he admitted. “How ya like me now, America?”

Is he expecting us to be happy for him that he didn’t touch Lindsay? I mean, yeah — she’s a bit skeevy, but for him, it would still be an upgrade, which is just sad.

Charlie Sheen’s Heart Continues To Grow

2008 ALMA Awards - Press Room

At this rate, if this is what hookers and blow seems to cause, then I say let the man have as much as he wants.

Perhaps it’s nothing more than a continued public mea culpa, but Charlie Sheen is still putting other famous people to shame with his generosity — he’s helped to pay for the funeral of Chris Guerra, the paparazzo who was killed while attempting to get a shot of Justin Bieber in his car.

In a odd connection, the Anger Management star is close friends to another pap who was friends with Guerra and after hearing that the family was having some trouble laying their family member to rest, decided to help out.

“A tragic incident like this erases the line between the photographer and the subject”, he said in a statement to TMZ. “It’s an unforgiving moment that begs us all to be human and work as one to prevent this in the future.”

“As parents, we are all not supposed to bury our children. My deepest condolences to the families involved.”

Wow, Charlie… wow. You’re kind of awesome.

Guerra will be laid to rest in a private ceremony tomorrow afternoon.
