Carly Rae Sticks Up For The Gays

55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Arrivals

Don’t call her. Not even maybe.

Singer Carly Rae Jepsen sent out a huge message to the Boy Scouts of America after pulling out of a huge concert to benefit them: you’re not OK with the LGBT community and I’m not OK with that!

She had been set to be part of a double bill with rock group Train this coming July for the Scout’s National Scout Jamboree in West Virginia — but the 27-year-old recently chose not to go through with it, considering the ban on gay scouts and scout leaders.

“As an artist who believes in equality for all people, I will not be participating in the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree this summer,” Jepsen said [via Twitter].

She continued, “I always have and will continue to support the LGBT community on a global level … and stay informed on the ever changing landscape in the ongoing battle for gay rights in this country and across the globe.”

It was an odd choice since her support of the community was obviously used in the single for her big hit, “Call Me Maybe” — the man she chases after in the clip turns out to be attracted to a male bandmate of Carly’s at the very end.

And by the way, this isn’t the first cancellation of this particular show — Train already pulled out for the same reason, but promised to re-sign on should the ban be overturned.

Might be time to let loose those knots, Boy Scouts.

The Beliebers In London Don’t Like Tardiness

JustinBieberInstagramBW

With the adorable nature falling and the total douchebag style constantly rising, you would think Justin Bieber might want to hold onto the bit of support from those fans he’s always so passionate about.

But he seemingly forgot all about them on Monday night when he hit the stage of his London based concert almost two hours later than originally scheduled.

Following his constant complaining over his 19th birthday celebration, the Biebs said he was having a good day via his Twitter — and he was set to bit the stage at the 02 Theatre at 8:30, following opening act, Carly Rae Jepsen.

Her set finished by 9:10 — but there was still no sign of the star.

“I was at the concert and he [Bieber] came out at 10:15 p.m. and Carly Rae Jepsen finished her set at 9:10 p.m.. Justin should have been out at 9:30,” concertgoer Sophia Lee exclusively told E! News. “Everyone was kept waiting not knowing anything. All they did was kept playing Michael Jackson songs. All the fans were getting so annoyed at around 9:50 p.m., fans started booing.”

Sadly, many of the young folks who had to shell out big bucks to see the star had to leave disappointed: some because it was a school night, others because the last train departed at midnight — which means he was probably still on stage when the show should’ve been over.

Justin eventually sent out another half-assed apology (he does that a lot), claiming he was only 40 minutes late due to “technical difficulties” which apparently wasn’t the case for Carly Rae.

“There is no excuse for that and I apologize for anyone we upset. However it was a great show and I’m proud of that,” he tweeted.

And of course, because he had to blame someone for something he did on his own, he called out the media, expressing that he realized they weren’t always on his side.

“My relationship with the media is not always easy, but I’m trying. I’m all about the music and the performance and I respect my fans. I never have any intent to upset or let anyone down. And I’m not okay with things being exaggerated, once again sorry for anyone upset.”

Because whether it was 40 minutes or two hours — that was totally the media’s fault he was late.

So yeah — sorry about that, y’all.

Canada Overtakes The American Music Awards

Blame Canada — they’re all over pop radio!

Two Canadians; namely Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen took over the American Music Awards last night with their wins.

Justin pretty much swept the show, taking home 3 of the trophies including the top honor, Artist of the Year. He brought his date onstage with him to take the final award of the night: his mother.

“I wanted to thank you for always believing in me”, he said to her with a smile.

In a shocker, Jepsen ended up taking the Best New Artist, although her first single was more one-hit wonder and her second is pretty lackluster at least to me.

You can check out Justin’s performance above; a medley of “As Long As You Love Me” and his current single, “Beauty And A Beat” with Nicki Minaj (who took home two awards herself).

Read on after the jump for the full list of winners.

Call Me Nakey

Hey, I just met you…. and this is crazy…. girl, keep your clothes on!

Carly Rae Jepsen, the singer behind this year’s most annoyingly catchy song, “Call Me Maybe” is definitely on the path to stardom: she has a nude photo scandal under her belt. You know the deal: someone hacked her computer (uh-huh) and now, there are naked pics of her being sold to the highest bidder.

TMZ‘s law enforcement insiders say that Jensen’s people received word about the pics back in March from an anonymous source. Once they confirmed it’s authenticity, they jumped on the case. Vancouver police say there is a case open regarding “a theft of electronic property” for Jepsen and there is a suspect they are eyeing.

Congratulations, Carly. You’ll be famous in no time.
