Spice Memories

EmmaMelCTwitter

Tell me what you want, what you really, really want.

Is that a trip down Memory Lane? Well, too bad; you’re getting it anyway.

Two members of the Spice Girls, Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm and Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton decided to revisit the past this week with an invitation to a costume / birthday party being thrown by comedienne Leigh Francis and threw on some of their old get-ups from their hey day.

“Baby and sporty are back!!!!” Emma tweeted alongside the above photo, showing Sporty in a soccer jersey that she actually wore during her Spice Girls days and Baby rocking her signature pigtails.

And even Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell, who was at the bash, was dumbfounded at just how awesome they looked in their old clothes.

“Confused ?is this u now?!” she asked via her Twitter.

Still able to spice up our lives all of these years later!

Infamous NYC Politico Passes Away

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg Inaugurated For A Second Term on the Steps of City Hall

Very sad weekend here in New York City.

Former mayor Ed Koch, whose jovial spirit and catch phrase of “How am I doing?” to every New Yorker he managed to pass by during his 3 turns in office, passed away early yesterday after many illnesses. He was 88 years old.

Koch served in the United States House of Representatives from 1969-1977 and three terms as mayor of New York City from 1978-1989. He’s credited with rescuing the city from dire financial straits during his time in charge.

I don’t remember too much about his time in office; I was way too young there… but whenever I did catch him on my screen, he always had a positive demeanor, seemed proud of his city and definitely was a person who had no fear in speaking his mind.

The life long bachelor, who many believed was gay, spoke about it a couple of times in his career, but the best quote might possibly one that was never meant to be heard.

Check out a recently unearthed VH1 documentary clip of him speaking about the whispers after the jump.

He will be missed.

The Best of 2012′s Music – Mashed Up

There were a lot of great tracks released over this year… and some ones that were not so great. But for those who don’t have time to relive each and every one of them, here’s a great way to do so.

Check out “Pop Danthology 2012″, a mash-up created by remixer Daniel Kim of 50 of the biggest songs over this year. There’s some Riri (I knew she was a singer!), 1D (of course!), Katy and even that annoying ass K-Pop guy. But it all sounds pretty damn amazing this way.

“Pop Danthology 2012” was the first creative project I worked on”, Kim wrote on his blog, “not out of my need to escape my pain, but simply out of my desire to create art for art’s sake.”

His “art” has garnered over 10 million views! Add yourself to that list and check it out for yourself!

2012 In (Google) Review

If it was big, if it was sad, if it was meaningful, you used Google to search for it.

The search engine compiled all of the biggest things people looked up in 2012 in their annual Zeitgeist video and there are some moments for everyone.

Whether it was the amazing feat of Austrian Felix Baumgartner breaking the sound barrier with his jump from space, the obsession everyone had with everyone’s favorite America hater K-Pop rapper, PSY or the sad passing of Whitney Houston, you’re sure to have some kind of emotion with this powerful clip.

Also released was the top 10 searches from America and around the world, which shouldn’t be a surprise – the death of Whitney tops both lists.

Check out the year in retrospect video above… and click on after the jump for both lists of the top 10 Google searches in the States and around the world.

Every shirtless Matthew McConaughey scene supercut

Just listen to the background music and watch scene after scene of Matthew McConaughey’s mammaries through the years, and it’s hard to imagine how you’re not viewing gay porn.

NY Magazine put together a glorious supercut of history’s most shirtless actor, (besting shirtless veteran Matthew Rush) Matthew McConaughey. Watch him in various states of undress and peek-a-boo booty crack in this patchwork of clips that my mother probably remembers best as curious stains in my underwear.

Consider this the teaser of what you’ll miss if you don’t head to the theaters to see Magic Mike, which debuted to sold-out crowds yesterday. According to a viewer, in addition to flashes of Channing Tatum‘s culo, in one of the male stripper flick’s several nude scenes, you can see the chicken-fried steak and gravy Matthew McConaughey had for dinner.

From NY Mag:

In other news, a woman who saw Magic Mike on opening night just told me, “You almost see up Matthew McConaughey’s butt hole.” I asked if anyone in the audience screamed. “A hush fell over the crowd,” she replied.

A hole like that sounds like it belongs on the putt-putt trail!
