Reese Witherspoon Tried To Lie

85th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

I guess we’re supposed to feel sorry for her, but actress Reese Witherspoon is making the entire story of her drunken arrest sound more like an attempt to keep her clean image.

Finally coming through on a cancelled interview for Good Morning America following the mishap, the actress broke her silence about what transpired when her husband, Jim Toth, was picked up for DUI last month.

“We went out to dinner in Atlanta and we had one too many glasses of wine,” she explained. “We thought we were fine to drive and we absolutely were not…We know better and we shouldn’t have done that.”

“I saw [the police officer] arresting my husband and I literally panicked,” she went on. “I told him I was pregnant. I’m not pregnant. I said all kinds of crazy things.”

She did relent and admit she was “disrespectful” to the officer — which led to her being cuffed as well — and says that the role of Elle Woods made her feel like she could take on the law.

And obviously, that wasn’t the case.

“I played a lawyer in a movie so many times I think I am a lawyer,” she said. “And, clearly, I’m not a lawyer because I got arrested.”

She played her in two movies, by the way (Legally Blonde and its sequel) — but OK.

“When a police officer tells you to stay in the car, you stay in the car,” she added. “I learned that for sure.”

And we learned that Reese had a really dumb moment.

Beyonce Teases More Music — In Another Commercial

OK, it was cute the first time…

Maybe the rumors are right regarding Beyoncé’s pressure at finding a proper first single from her fifth album: at this point, we’re getting more previews than actual songs (and I’m not including that “I Been On / Bow Down” release — because, no).

Yet another new track from the set has been used in a new H&M commercial. In truth, it’s meant to be part of the preview of the swimwear line the singer is selling solely at their stores for the 2013 H&M Summer Collection — but the extravagance of the clip, directed by Jonas Ackerlund, really makes you wonder what’s taking the girl so long to release an actual full song outside of a concert performance and a Pepsi commercial.

Oh, yeah; the clothes look cute.

Anyway, check out the commercial which features the new track, “Standing In The Sun” after the jump.

Thirsty For More Beyoncé?

The 2013 takeover of Beyoncé keeps rolling pretty strong and now, we have her Pepsi commercial as well as a preview of a new song!

In the just released clip, Queen Bey decides to work on her moves in a dance studio and takes a sip of the soda, when she’s visited by some old friends.

Nope, it’s not Destiny’s Child this time — it’s Beyoncé. Or in this case, some past versions of her biggest video hits.

“I had so much fun collaborating on this campaign with Pepsi,” said said in a statement. “I got to re-live some of my favorite past characters and looks. “It was the first time I saw those costumes in years and it was very emotional. I’m proud of those moments and they all connect in some way and have helped me evolve into who I am today.”

There’s “Bootylicious”, “Crazy In Love”, “Run The World (Girls)” and a whole bunch of others — and they all get down to the beat to a new song off of her upcoming 5th album.

The track, “Grown Woman” is set for a full release next Monday and was produced by the awesome Timbaland — so you know she’s gonna come with it!

Check out the clip after the jump.

Beyonce Is Better Than You In New Documentary

One of the world’s biggest music stars has it all: a powerful husband also in the music game, a beautiful daughter, loads of cash, a close connection to the President and his wife, songs that people know the world over and beauty beyond compare.

And if you didn’t know any of that, Beyonce is going to share it all with you in a documentary set to air on HBO next year.

“I always battle with, how much do I reveal about myself”, she shares in the small teaser released yesterday. ““If I’m scared, be scared. Allow it. Release it.”

If she’s releasing some of her money, I’m down.

Speaking of releases, she’s also set to release some new music right before her performance on the Superbowl next year (which is two weeks before the documentary airs), according to The-Dream in a Billboard sit down.

“She’s already gearing up to get ready to put stuff out,” he said. “I’m sure there will probably be a couple records you hear before the Super Bowl gets here.”

Looks like someone is looking to re-take hold of the world she already feels she “runs”.

The doc is set to air on February 16th.

Canada Overtakes The American Music Awards

Blame Canada — they’re all over pop radio!

Two Canadians; namely Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen took over the American Music Awards last night with their wins.

Justin pretty much swept the show, taking home 3 of the trophies including the top honor, Artist of the Year. He brought his date onstage with him to take the final award of the night: his mother.

“I wanted to thank you for always believing in me”, he said to her with a smile.

In a shocker, Jepsen ended up taking the Best New Artist, although her first single was more one-hit wonder and her second is pretty lackluster at least to me.

You can check out Justin’s performance above; a medley of “As Long As You Love Me” and his current single, “Beauty And A Beat” with Nicki Minaj (who took home two awards herself).

Read on after the jump for the full list of winners.
