A new West End musical featuring the music of the Spice Girls has been given the green light, and a producer behind the international musical hit Mamma Mia! Will be at the helm.
The show will be titled Viva Forever and has not been written, but will include songs like Who Do You Think You Are, Wannabe, The Lady Is A Vamp and Mama. It’s expected to be on stage some time in the next three years.

Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell led the campaign behind Viva Forever, and managed to woo former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller and Mamma Mia! producer Judy Craymer to become the creative team behind the project.

And just like Mamma Mia!, the show will not be a tribute to the girl group; rather it will just include the songs set to an entirely yet-to-be written fictional plot. Look-alikes will not be cast.

“It won’t be their life story,” Craymer told the Daily Mail. “It will be fictionalized, but you would feel you were getting the sense of a story about a group of women that you knew was very much related to the music.”

What do you think?!!! Exciting, no?
