Was it a magic wand or the hand of a highly skilled plastic surgeon? Or some much needed rest, perhaps? Either way, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz stepped out looking more fabulous and fresh-faced than ever today as they strolled the streets of New York City. The obvious–and significant–improvements to their faces have the bloggeratti speculating that the pair opted for a his-and-hers cosmetic surgery overhaul.  They really, really, really, really look good right now. A vast improvement indeed. This marks the second time Ashlee Simpson has gone under the knife, having previously undergone a dramatic nose job.

UPDATE: Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are actually wearing masks–and those aren’t, in fact, their new faces. They were strolling around the city yesterday and popped into a Halloween shop, then came out in masks. We regret the error.
