It’s a real-life tale that sounds like the plot summaries of Mamma Mia meets Transamerica. A young UK woman wanted to find her biological father to ask him to walk her down the aisle. But it came as a big surprise to her when she discovered that the man her mother described as a tattooed boxer nicknamed “The Italian Stallion” was living as a woman and–on a list for a sex change.

Emily Wallis, 22, reunited with her father, Clive (who now goes by Chloe), who left the country without knowing that her mother was pregnant.

“For years I had dreamed of us all being reunited. I’d even secretly harbored a hope that Clive and Mum might get back together. But when I saw my dad I realized that certainly wasn’t going to happen!”

And now, Chloe, who owns 82 pairs of high-heeled shoes, looks forward to building a relationship with her daughter as a mother.

“I’m on the list for a sex change and I’ve found Emily,” Chloe said. “It’s like becoming a new mum at the age of 52.”
