An American Airlines flight attendant was unhappy that an obese passenger was allowed to board a flight without paying for two seats. She took a photograph of him to show managers the difficulty in seating a passenger who is overweight. She then leaked it to the interwebs.

Whereas I sympathize with her job and the difficulties this situation presents, it is rather malicious of her to take it public!

Rants, Thoughts & Merde
She made a horrible vocational choice some years ago. Now she’s stuck in a job she despises, so she takes out her frustrations by humiliating Fatty McGee.
Amazing! Humiliating a passenger was such a low blow, obviously this flight attendant has no class and is incredibly petty and small minded. Wonder if her parents are proud of her.
I sympathize more with the guy next to that behemoth. Hope he didn’t have to go to the bathroom during the flight.
Humiliating? Are you guys serious. WTF. How is this any different than being there and seeing this ridiculous shit in person. Listen this guy needs to take ownership of his situation and loose the weight if he is ashamed. This is also an extreme safety hazard and uncomfortable situation for other passengers and the crew. They should ban these big people from even stepping onto the plane in the first place if for nothing else safety reasons.
There should be 1 rule for passenger size……All passengers MUST wear a seatbelt….or 2.
Well, I don’t blame her for taking this pic. I don’t think it’s wrong to shame people into fixing themselves. Clearly this person has an eating problem. I know when I feel fat, I get motivated to get in shape again. This guuy is causing a hazard and inconvenience to everyone on the plane.
[...] A flight attendant was not happy that this man was allowed to board without purchasing 2 tickets. To show management how upset this would make the beverage cart, she snapped this photo and (oops) shared it with the world. Like this post? Share it! [...]
I agree with dohspc, there’s no excuse for being that overweight and being a burden to everyone around you. This guy needs to stop eating everything in sight and get a life.
And I don’t want to hear anyone whine about glandular or psychological problems, that’s bulls#it. This guy is obviously a lazy, fat turd who sits his fat ass on a couch all day when he could be outside walking a block or two or 80 for that matter.
It’s losers like him that give us a bad name as being nothing but fat and lazy Americans.
“This guy is obviously a lazy, fat turd who sits his fat ass on a couch all day when he could be outside walking a block or two or 80 for that matter”
Wow – you could tell all that from looking at his back? That’s amazing! You should be a top diagnostician! Shit! You could probably diagnose cancer by sniffing people as well!
I agree this guy shouldn’t have been squashed into one seat. It’s a safety issue for him and everyone else. But there was no excuse for posting this on the net – she wanted to show management, fine. Anything else just leaves her looking like a bitch who doesn’t care about her job. How can her complaint be taken seriously now?
OMG–this guy shouldn’t have been allowed to fly unless he purchased a second seat.Clearly a safety hazard, and if I was on that same flight and have to sit beside him,I’d be asking for a full refund. And no, this lard lad wasn’t squashed into one seat—looks like he couldn’t even fit into a single seat, never mind any issue with buckling up a seat-belt. Thumbs down to American Airlines for allowing him on the flight. Who can blame the flight attendant for snaping a photo–I’d do the same thing in this circumstance. She’s trying to ensure the safety of ALL the passengers on the flight, and clearly this morbidly obese person would have hampered her ability to do so.Maybe next time chubby cheeks should take the train…

I am obese. And belief you me i would rather pay for 2 seats, than be such a serious safety hazzard. This should not be about the mans size per say, but he is a risk to the staff and all fellow passengers!! And i can say that because i am fat!! FACT
How is that humiliating? It doesn’t even show his face. Anyway, if he ever sees this and feels humiliated then it should be an insentive to lose some of that extra weight.
I think everyone who thinks that this woman is wrong should A) read Alexi’s post (it is just a fact that it IS a safety hazard, never mind that he’d have to move every time the trolley comes down! and B) Understand that she may not have even done it maliciously, she may just have been at her wit’s end as (and this is directed to the person who said she made “a horrible vocational choice” )- I know 3 flight attendants who all say they absolutely love their job, apart from situations like this, and rude passengers. Basically, and here’s the C) If he’s willing to go on a public flight with 150 people, what’s the difference between them seeing him in real life and us looking at it on the internet?
The only reason this would be wrong is if those who look at the photo laugh. I did NOT laugh, I thought to myself “Why isn’t he in 2 seats, that’s a safety hazard” – which is exactly what that woman is trying to point out.
Sorry if you’re overweight, and blame a health problem, but from personal experience of myself and family I know that you only get THAT fat when your medical condition is combined with a general lack of sticking to a diet that helps your condition rather than exacerbates it – failure to stick to it is a result of laziness.
If I can’t leave my bag in the aisle, why does he get to leave half his body there? If I was a passenger on that plane and he was in the way of my exit I would’ve complained, or asked to swap seats, lol.
[...] The dubious relationship of the unlikely twosome, 16-year-old Jyoti Amge, who weighs 11 pounds and is 23” tall from India, and 42-year-old American Donna Simpson, who weighs 644 pounds at a flattering 5’4,” was actually arranged by a Japanese TV show. They were both flown to Tokyo for the tapping. My guess is Jyoti got to ride for free on someone’s lap and Donna needed around 4-5 seats. Or maybe just one seat did the trick. [...]
