A raven described by authorities as “incredibly clever” is accused of stalking a woman, and has escaped police custody–leaving the woman in fear of the bird’s return.

According to reports, the bird had stalked the woman for several days by tapping at her window, tearing her grocery bags and perching on her car.”The lady even claimed it had physically attacked her,” Rainer Köller, a spokesman for a German police department told reporters.

Police say they managed to capture the bird by luring it into a a box with bird food, then they took it to a bird sanctuary. Days later, it pecked its way out of a box and has returned to the same town of its victim.
