The country chanteuse and Best Female Music Video nominee released a promo spot on Friday for the upcoming MTV Music Video Awards on September 13. She covers West Side Story’s Tonight, as a nod to the show’s return to The Big Apple. “When we were in the studio recording, I just kind of went all out — all show tunes,” she told MTV News. “I am obsessed with Broadway. So I was pretty excited about getting to sing this song.”

She’ll join Cobra Starship, Katy Perry, Russell Brand and Ne-Yo for a special mashup version, out later. “It’s gonna be me and a bunch of artists, and we’re shooting individual versions of the song,” she said. “Mine is shot in a vintage old cab.”
