Police say a game of Monopoly turned violent after a Michigan man slapped a female friend for refusing to sell Boardwalk and Park Place.

Kenneth Anthony Repke, 54, was arrested on assault charges on Saturday, for hitting the 56-year-old woman.

“Yes, I was at my neighbor’s house. We were playing Monopoly and he hit me,” the woman was heard saying on the 911 call. “He slapped me and knocked my glasses off.”

If convicted, Repke could face 93 days in jail. Neighbors were surprised to learn about the incident, and say the two never had problems before.”I thought that was violent for a game that’s supposed to be friendly,” said a neighbor. “I guess he takes his Monopoly seriously.”
