The NY Post has a great feature on the aging Cameron Diaz, who steps into her first “mom” role in the film adaptation of the best selling novel My Sister’s Keeper, out Friday. But the question is posed: Is this the end of the dancing-in-panties Cameron? The same girl who, not too long ago, starred alongside Ashton Kutcher in newlywed flick What Happens in Vegas in a role that was better suited for someone a decade younger than her? I also learned this WTF fact that, after seeing Lost in Translation, makes complete sense now:

The 36-year-old has also been oft-rumored to be the inspiration for Anna Faris’ character in the movie “Lost in Translation,” a ditzy blond action-movie star who says things like, “Oh my God, I have the worst B.O. right now, I’m sorry.”

The Post also chatted up regular gals around town to weigh in, and chick who has it out for her tells the Post she thinks it’s about time Cameron started to act her age. And I think most people echo her sentiments.

“Who wants to see a 36-year-old semi-anorexic woman dancing on tables in rom-coms?
“Cameron,” she says, “if you’re gonna keep acting, for the love of God, [keep] take roles that have you do something more than get wasted and have sex with Ashton Kutcher.”
