Ghostbusters, as it celebrates its 25th anniversary with a Blu-ray release on Tuesday, as well as a new game voiced by the original cast that includes Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Sigourney Weaver. Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman tells the Post that a  third film is currently in the works.

NY Post chatted up the stars of the mega-hit to provide a hilarious oral history of the flick, and among the gems is this awesome tidbit director Ivan Reitman and Sigourney Weaver share on the origins of her character, Dana Barrett.

Reitman: There was just something so regal and tall and strong about Sigourney. I thought she’d be perfect. What sealed the deal for her was that in the middle of this nice conversation we were having in my office, she said, “You know what — Dana should get possessed by one of those dog statues on the roof.” She got on the coffee table and starts howling like a dog and writhing her body, which was a sight. I thought, that’s kind of a cool idea. We totally rewrote the last act taking that idea and running with it.

Weaver: Being from the theater, I thought I’d have to turn into a Terror Dog personally. It didn’t occur to me that there would be special effects. So I became a dog on Ivan’s sofa and gnawed on a few cushions. He was quite startled.

Weaver also tells that Post that she kept the head of the Terror Dog from the movie, and she puts it on her guest bed to f*ck with visitors! It’s official–Sigourney Weaver is the most awesome thing, ever.

I can’t find the scene in question, but here’s a WTF scene featuring Sigourney Weaver flashing some unncessary boobage. Watch as she pulls down her own top, with her own hand!
