More details have surfaced regarding Kill Bill star David Carradine’s bizarre death. Further investigations reveal that he had a long history of odd sex habits, and may have died from Auto-erotic asphyxiation–a masturbation practice of denying oxygen to the brain for sexual stimulation.
Yesterday, Thai police confirmed that the actor was found hanged in his luxury hotel room–in what appeared to be a suicide. But now they suspect accidental sex play.
“There was a rope tied around his neck and another rope tied to his genitals, and the two ropes were tied together and they hung in the closet,” Lieutenant General Worapong Siewpreecha told reporters.
“Under these circumstances we cannot be sure that he committed suicide.”
The Smoking Gun also revealed details about the actor’s ex-wife, Marina, and her fear of his deadly sex practices and complaints of an alleged incestuous affair in the couple’s divorce proceedings:
Marina accused Carradine of “deviant sexual behavior which was potentially deadly” and alleged that he was involved in an “incestuous relationship with a very close family member.” She added that Carradine and the unnamed relative admitted the taboo relationship, but that her “pleas for him to get counseling in regards to this matter were ignored and he wanted no part in the healing process the other person needed in order to get closure.”
Knowing that his death occurred in Thailand, I instantly had my money on drugs, Thai ladyboys or something freaky behind his death. Who knew he was into “Auto-erotic asphyxiation,” or as I like to call it–a Jack & Choke.
It’s estimated that between 500 and 1000 deaths occur annually in the United States from this dangerous type of masturbation. While it is thought to be practiced more often by adolescent or young adult guys, a small number of women die from AEA every year.
