With the mad rush to fill the third seat on the judging panel for American Idol before it’s upcoming season, there have a mix of names thrown around. As of now, we definitely have Mariah and Randy… and it seems that Idol producers are targeting hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs for the empty seat.

The New York Post claims that Idol producers have reached out to the Bad Boy Records founder in hopes he’ll join the team after the departures of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.

However, he may have some competition: former boybander, Nick Jonas said that he was “being considered” for joining the once prominent FOX series, about to enter it’s 12th season.

I’d personally go with Diddy as he and Mimi definitely know each other well enough to have some great banter.

We’ll see how this one goes; Diddy’s rep didn’t and neither did FOX.
