First Lady of France, Carla Bruni, flubbed her cameo in Woody Allen’s new movie 35 times! For her part in Midnight in Paris, all she had to do was clutch a baguette as she walked into a grocery store. No speaking. Just clutch a baguette and walk alongside Owen Wilson. She apparently had difficulty finding her ‘motivation’ for the seconds-long appearance and kept looking into the camera. She also kept trying to add to the scene to make it an epic moment. Daily Mail explains:
‘She seemed to be struggling to avoid looking directly into the camera, which didn’t impress Woody,’ said an onlooker in Paris. ‘The baguette scene could not have been simpler, but she wanted to make it a big one. That’s why she had to keep shooting it over and over again.’
This is how you solve a problem like getting Carla Bruni to pay attention: Put a Chanel bag, stack of cash and a bottle of Pinot in front of the direction you want her to look at–it’ll be like waving carrots in front of a horse. And if you want her to stop trying to hog camera time and make everything about ‘me me me,’ sorry, ‘moi moi moi,’ just remind her she’s not Tyra Banks.
It’s that easy.
