The aftermath of ’80s heartthrob Corey Haim’s death has yielded a lot of previously low-radar stories from his past. One particular gem is this tidbit that I was not aware of: He and Victoria Beckham were once an item!

YES, Posh Spice and Corey Haim dated back in the ‘90s on the cusp of Spice Girls mania–a year before Wannabe became a major hit for the gals in 1996. The pair met at a London recording studio and locked “sniper eyes,“ Haim reveals in a Kiss & Tell interview. “When she kisses, she does this cool little thing which I can’t say…She just does this little gnaw thing,” he waxed nostalgic. But the romance ended during a blowout argument over Victoria‘s crush on boy band Take That.

Admittedly, Corey didn’t remember much on the relationship (as he was struggling with his drug addiction), but Victoria offered a different view in her autobiography, Learning to Fly, and says during the argument she:

“dragged [Haim] out by his neck, shoved him in my car, drove to the Hilton, opened the car door, pushed him out with my foot, undid the bag of clothes, scattered them in front of the hotel and drove off, with him shouting, ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry.’ I had enough on my plate without worrying about some screwed-up film star.”
