Authorities say an obese woman was so big that she couldn’t leave her bed as her home was burning down. A harrowing phone call released today reveals a desperate woman who was helpless because of her large size.
According to reports, the 500-pound Jacksonville, Fla. woman called 911 on Tuesday night because she couldn’t rescue herself from a fire that started in her kitchen.
When authorities arrived at the home, they needed even more help–and quick thinking to save the woman. It took eight firefighters to lift her through the largest window in the home while on her mattress to get her to safety. Rescue workers says that they might not have been able to save her if she was trapped above the first floor.

Wow! She is very lucky to have survived such an ordeal — I wonder if it has had any effect on her lifestyle in terms of losing weight for more mobility.
