"Michael Jackson Immortalized" Hand and Footprint Ceremony in Hollywood on January 26, 2012

As usual, she took her sweet time with coming through (kind of like that extended vacation), but Katherine Jackson has officially backed the claim that her grandson, TJ should get the $9,000 a month he requested in order to take care of Michael Jackson’s 3 children.

The papers were filed yesterday in L.A. Supreme Court to grant TJ the money from Michael’s estate that will continue to help him provide for Prince, Paris and Blanket, which he’s been doing since August of last year.

Initially, Katherine wanted TJ to have more money to provide for the children, but he denied the offer, saying it was too much.

Wow — an actual good-hearted member of the family. He exists!

In the docs, filed yesterday in L.A. County Superior Court, Katherine claims TJ eventually agreed to $9k — $108,000 per year — which is roughly equivalent to the salary earned by the children’s full-time nanny.

Katherine says the salary is justified because he spends an average of 300 hours per month caring for the kids — taking them to various appointments, extracurricular activities (karate, athletics, guitar lessons) and social outings.

According to the matriarch, TJ has really stepped up in making sure the kids have as much of a normal life as possible; he helps with schoolwork, attends school functions (such as parent-teacher nights) and is pretty much the doting dad guardian.
A judge hasn’t ruled just yet — but I think this needs to happen.
