Continuing on their awesome promotion of an already controversial movie, action figures based on the character of Django Unchained have been removed from any and all toy shelves, after massive complaints came through regarding their creation and intent to sell them.
Among the most vocal opponents? The Rev. Al Sharpton‘s National Action Network, which slammed it earlier this month and called for a national boycott of the toy line.
“Selling this doll is highly offensive to our ancestors and the African American community,” the organization said.
Consider it the latest ding for a movie already banged up from some pretty high-profile swipes.
So no one wants to talk about the issues, but yet they continue to push forth the controversy in ways like this.
