I knew they could do it!
The boys of One Direction hoped you would take them home and you did in droves: their second album, Take Me Home debuted at the top of the Billboard charts this week, shipping out over 540,000 copies.
They sold nearly four times the amount of their first album, Up All Night (also released this year) which sold a little over 170,000 copies!
Coming in second is the leader of the past couple of weeks, Taylor Swift‘s Red, which shipped out another 145,000 copies and adds to her already highest sale of the year, which is currently capped at 1.89 million.
As for Christina Aguilera, it seems like the do-as-I-please promotion may have scarred her Lotus: she slumps onto the chart at a very disappointing #5 and sold only about 73,000 copies.
Guess it didn’t bloom as much as she hoped.
