There’s a lot of four letter words that have been thrown at Simon Cowell throughout the years — many that would probably take this site off the web — but he can officially add another one to his given “titles”: hero.

While hanging out with his girlfriend on his yacht on St. Tropez yesterday, someone on the vessel heard a distress call from another boat: turns out it was from 9 people among a 35-foot boat that was sinking.

Simon has his captain quickly go to their rescue, also managing to plug the hole on their boat as well.

He might be a jerk to many (one of those few 4-letter words we can use), but at least his heart is in the right place.

In the latest drama behind the scenes at American Idol, the news has been made official: Randy Jackson, the last original judge of the music competition, is no longer at the judge’s table. However, he will be kept on as a “mentor”.

As of this moment, there is only one judge that is officially known: Mariah Carey.

Even worse, sources at the show don’t believe Randy is suitable enough to be a mentor (although he’s worked in the industry for years), but are keeping him on because he’s such a strong part of the series.

Also, it’s been made official that there will be a 4th judge this season, although they’re hasn’t been any word on who will judges 2 and 3 will be (Nicki Minaj\ is said to be close to officially signing on, but there are some issues they’re still ironing out).

Something tells me the shining lights of Idol will be fading out very soon.

It doesn’t make it any better, but at least things were proven wrong.

The cause of death of Sylvester Stallone‘s only son, Sage (seen with his father, above, in Rocky V) was released yesterday and although it was said otherwise, there were no drugs in his system at the time of his death.

However, he did suffer a heart attack, which lead to his death at the age of 36 earlier this year. The L.A. Coroner’s office has officially ruled that Sage died of natural causes.

It was strange that Sage suffered a heart attack at his very young age and had such coronary damage, but there were signs that he suffered from heart disease.

As if this year hasn’t been hard enough on her, Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts and her family are in mourning today — her mother, Lucimarian Tolliver Roberts, passed away yesterday at the age of 88.

Robin ended up exiting the morning series one day earlier than expected for medical leave yesterday, saying that there were some issues she needed to attend to at home and the news was later revealed that her mother was ill. Unfortunately, it come as a surprise at just how ill she was.

Robin undergoes bone marrow surgery next week in order to fight off MDS, a blood disease she obtained after undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer.

She and her mother were extremely close, even going as far as to write a book that was released earlier this year entitled My Story, My Song.

Once again, our hearts and thoughts are with the Roberts family through this very saddening time.
