Robin Roberts Leaves Early

Although she was scheduled to take a medical leave tomorrow, Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts announced on today’s show that she would be exiting the morning show today, following “some things” happening at her “home”.

Roberts is taking an extended break for her MDS recovery (which includes a bone marrow transplant), acquired after her chemotherapy for breast cancer last year. Tomorrow is a huge day for GMA: the Backstreet Boys are set to perform as a five-some for the first time in years, but certain situations (later expressed to be her mother being ill) caused her to depart a day early.

“I had planned to let tomorrow be the last day”, she expressed sadly, “and then some things happened at home and I wanna take care of that before I begin my treatment next week.”

She promises to return once her treatment and recovery are over. We wish her the best during this time.
