Alicia Keys on “Fire” on New CD

Motherhood does a woman good: check out the official cover for Alicia Keys‘ upcoming album, Girl On Fire.

The album, set to be released on November 27th, is Alicia’s fifth, although she sees it as beginning from the very start.

“This album represents a new me in every way”, she told EW. “I mean, you’re still going to feel me and you’re still going to identify with what part of me you’ve identified with before. So that’s the cool part. But everything about it is different because my mind frame is different, the energy about it is different…”

She says that the album’s content was written after giving birth to her son, Egypt (the baby’s father is husband, Swizz Beats) and he definitely influenced her to look at things from a new perspective when it came to her song writing and life itself.

“You get an immediate perspective shift. There’s just nothing like it. And, all of a sudden, it’s like you’re a full-on f—ing grown up. It’s obviously because you’re a mom and you’re caring for another life. But it’s more than that: It’s like you have a sense of what feels right and what doesn’t feel right.”

Well, she definitely looks right! You get it, girl!
