Well, that was a disappointment.

The anticipation regarding Mariah Carey‘s new single, “Triumphant (Get ‘Em)” was at a fever pitch for many yesterday… until it was actually released.

The song, which many hoped would help bring Mimi back to the prominence she rightfully deserved, isn’t really hitting well, in spite of the repeated “hit ‘em”s the song seems to chant.

For starters, it felt like Mariah somehow downplayed herself to be a mere “featured” artist on her own song: she sings the choruses and a bit of a bridge, but rappers Meek Mill and Rick Ross seem to be running the show.

Come on, girl; you can do way better than this.

If Chris Brown got off easy, why can’t he?

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. was released early from a Las Vegas jail early this morning after serving 2 of his 3-month sentence for domestic violence.

He was sentenced all the way back in December of 2010 after beating up the mother of his children in front of their kids, but was allowed to turn himself in on June of last year so he could fight Miguel Cotto on May 5th.

So, he got arrested for fighting and was allowed to turn himself in later so he could fight… yeah, the law makes total sense.

He was originally given six months after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor domestic violence charge — but 3 months of that was suspended.

Wow… because they seemed so right for each other!

After nearly a year of marriage, Doug Hutchison and his teen bride, Courtney Stodden are so on the rocks, they’re heading to the one place they feel it can be saved: VH1′s hit reality series, Couples Therapy.

Courtney and Doug entered wedded bliss last year, when Courtney was 16 and Doug was 51.

Sources at VH1 told TMZ that the couple have “obvious problems in their relationship because of their age difference and the notoriety they’ve gotten because of their relationship.”

Filming began a few days ago on the show’s second season. The first season is notorious for having all five couples break up after filming ended.

Jackson family matriarch, Katherine was reinstated as guardian over Michael’s three children yesterday, but will share custodial duties with her grandson, TJ.

In a hearing yesterday, a new court ruling was made giving Katherine back her guardianship rights with TJ taking over the day-to-day raising of Prince, Paris and Blanket — but only until August 22nd, when the judge will make a permanent ruling on whether or not the split roles will be permanent.

During the hearing, a court appointed investigator said Katherine has been doing a “terrific job as guardian and the children love her.” He added, “They also have a close relationship with their cousin, TJ Jackson.”
