In a very beautiful gesture, Cinemark; the company which owns the Century 16 movie theater in Aurora, Colorado has stepped up to cover the funeral expenses of the 12 people killed by James Holmes last week as they watched The Dark Knight Rises in their vacinity, TMZ reports.
One of the victims, Rebecca Wingo, was laid to rest yesterday (as were several others). Wingo’s mother, Shirley Wygal, turned down Cinemark’s offer considering the Victims Advocate Fund had already covered it, but a spokeperson through Cinemark say they will cover any others, if asked.
Rebecca’s mother released a statement as well that she was “grateful” for everyone who contributed to her daughter’s funeral and asked that any other funds be sent to AuroraHeroes.com, where funds have been set up for all of the families affected.
