Second. Best. Title. Ever. *bows*

Fred Willard is suffering a bit of embarrassment following being busted the other night for lewd conduct when he tried to get his rocks off in a XXX movie theater in Hollywood. Not only has he flat out denied it happened(he says it’s a “strange occurrence” that will all be worked out in time), but he’s even been fired from his upcoming PBS gig. However, it turns out that the arrest may have been all for naught, due to a clause in a Californian law that allows someone to play their skin flute behind the closed doors of an adult theater.

TMZ explains how he might get off… from this case:

In California, it’s not automatically illegal to masturbate in a public place like a movie theater … it’s ONLY illegal if the act occurs within eye-shot of people who “might be offended.”

So how does Willard beat the rap?

Willard’s alleged act occurred in a XXX theater, notorious for showing hardcore porno films to patrons who show up to get off. There were 4 other movie-goers in the house when cops busted Willard — 4 patrons in a dark, dank theater doing God knows what.  It’s a safe bet they weren’t particularly offended.  And if they say they were, good luck to them on cross examination.

In short, no one saw the lewd act and couldn’t be offended. Therefore, no law was broken. And he lives to jack it another day.
