The word “classy” isn’t something you’d normally attach to comedian Russell Brand, who at one point in time joked that he boinked all three Jonas Brothers in order to get them to take off their purity rings at the MTV Music Awards in 2008.
But on Howard Stern’s radio show this morning, he showed off a very different side to himself when Howard pushed forth with questions regarding their union, which ended officially earlier this week.
“[Before] we got married, I just thought, ‘I’ve got to marry her, I just love her so much.’ And then we got married and I thought, ‘Okay, this isn’t really working out.’”
More after the jump.
He also touched on tabloid rumors that the two of them ended their marriage because of their stance on children (that she wanted them and he didn’t):
“’I don’t want anything to hurt her. She’s younger than me, she’s a young woman and she’s beautiful and she’s sensitive and I care about her deeply. I don’t want to be too glib. She’ll read [about what I said] and she’ll be sad and I don’t want that.”
Sounds like there’s still a lot of love and respect there. Kudos, Russell. Kudos.
