You have to expect the realness of it all.
Following a tough time that brought a whole sense of woe to her life, Demi Lovato answered fans’ questions in the upcoming issue of Self Magazine that addresses her tough times and actions from self-mutilation, eating disorders and being diagnosed as bipolar.
“There were times I felt so anxious”, she says about cutting herself, “almost like I was crawling out of my skin, that if I didn’t do something physical to match the way I felt inside, I would explode. I cut myself to take my mind off that. I just didn’t care what happened. I had no fear.”
She seems to have it a bit under control with only minor, but positive changes to her life.
“You make a choice to work toward happiness. I used to expect it to come to me, but it takes more than seeing a therapist once a week. I make time for myself and meditate. And I haven’t used my cell in three months!
Subconsciously, it was a crutch. When a room gets quiet, what do you do? Grab your phone! Now I can sit and have conversations with people.”
Sounds like she’s on a good path; definitely respect her honesty.
Demi’s currently working as a judge for the upcoming season of “X-Factor” with Britney Spears as well as hosting this weekend’s “Teen Choice Awards” with “Glee” cast member, Kevin McHale.
