Once upon a time, she was headed to become one of the biggest music artists of all time. But former Fugees leader, Lauryn Hill might be finding herself far away from the spotlight: she pleaded guilty to not filing taxes and might be off to jail for three years.

TMZ reports that she failed to file throughout the years of 2005 to 2007, where she ended up making more than $1.8 million. Rumor has it that she makes her money off of royalties from pasts films and past albums (including 1998′s  “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill“). Other than the odd concert appearance (which she’s usually late for), she’s rarely seen in public.

With the possible jail time, Hill may also have to pay a $75,000 fine. She was released today on $150,000 bail and is set to face her judgment in November.
