This is what happens when you’re out clubbing every damn night.

R&B singer Chris Brown got quite the nasty gash on his face last night after an altercation with some people associated with hip-hop star, Drake.

Both stars and their entourages were partying it up at the WIP nightclub in New York when Chris sent a bottle over to Drake’s table with a handwritten note. However, witnesses say that there was never any bottle sent over to Drizzy’s table.

We’re told both Brown and Drake had been hanging out in the VIP section … when Drake began pointing and yelling at Brown.

Brown began yelling back … and that’s when members of both entourages rushed in and began shoving each other.

With tensions running high, someone threw a bottle — which set the whole thing off … and the shoving turned to punches.

We’re told club security rushed in to break up the fight … and called police for backup. Brown and Drake left the scene by the time cops showed up … but several members of their entourages remained at the club.  Multiple members of both crews required medical assistance.

There was significant damage to the club as well; tables were broken as well as lights, glasses, mirrors and a scratched up floor.

5 people, including Chris, were injured in the fight. Chris later Tweeted a picture of his injury and added, “How u party wit rich n**** that hate? Lol… Throwing bottles like girls? #shameonya!.”

Ever the wordsmith, that Chris is. The Tweet and photo have since been removed.

There were no serious injuries overall. The fight was said to have been started over another messy situation: the fact that both men have been romantically linked to Rihanna. She, however, was not present last night. Smart girl.

Guys, I think you’re taking the expression, “Poppin’ bottles in the club” a little too literally. No arrests were made as both celebs and their entourages had left before cops arrived.
