The Lindsay Chronicles
Hot Mess winner… and still champion.
Lindsay Lohan found herself back in the news this week (does she ever leave it?) after a car crash over the weekend that ended up injuring both herself and her assistant, while on the way to continue filming the Lifetime biopic based on Elizabeth Taylor. As previously mentioned, La Lohan slammed her rented Porsche into the back of an 18-wheeler truck, demolishing it, but obtaining minor injuries for both her and her passenger.
Since then, there have been so many updates and different takes, it’s hard to keep track. So to help you all out, here are some bullet points to bring you all up to speed. Trust me; it’s better this way.
- the driver of the 18-wheeler truck, named “James”, told TMZ, that he attempted to exchange insurance info with Lindsay, but was pressured by one of Lindsay’s “people” to keep it all on the hush-hush, while offering to pay him money for his silence. However, James had already called 911 by this time because Lindsay and her entourage were trying to get away from the scene ASAP. (Lindsay’s people have denied those claims.)
- following further claims that Lindsay was speeding down the highway, Lindsay has allegedly been telling her friends that the brakes on the Porsche gave out. This would be a bit more believable if Lindsay hadn’t also mentioned that she had the brakes checked not even two days prior.
And now, to add insult to injury (literally), reports have surfaced that Lindsay may be going to jail for lying to the police about the accident, saying that she was never the one driving in the first place. From TMZ:
Our sources say, when Lindsay was in the hospital getting checked out after the accident, cops from the Santa Monica Police Dept. paid a visit. Lindsay told police she was a passenger in the Porsche and her assistant was driving. But the lie didn’t stick because later Lindsay’s assistant told police Lindsay was behind the wheel.
We’re told police are writing up a report that will include Lindsay’s lie. It’s a crime to provide false info to a police officer. In addition, lying to police could trigger a probation violation in her shoplifting case, which means she faces the possibility of jail on 2 fronts.
Oh… and one more thing: James, the driver of the 18-wheeler truck is considering legal action for his pain and suffering.
The moral of the story? As I said before: Lindsay, look into a driver. Seriously.
