Rihanna Thinks You Should All Get Over It

Does she have a point or is she really just being callous about it all?

In a recent interview with Esquire magazine, Rihanna went absolutely manic toward the reporter when questioned about working with Chris Brown with the remixes to “Birthday Cake” (from her album, “Talk That Talk”) and “Turn Up The Music” (from his album, “Fortune”) following the 2009 attack that took place on the evening before the Grammys. Yes, you know the one.

While many fans and entertainment people questioned if Ri-Ri was officially off her rocker, she sees it as something we needed to get over:

That’s how f*cked up society is. There’s a lot of sh*t y’all can’t get over. Y’all holding your breath on a lot of stuff that doesn’t matter. When you realize who you live for, and who’s important to please, a lot of people will actually start living. I am never going to get caught up in that. I’m gonna look back on my life and say that I enjoyed it – and I lived it for me- and God. This is turning into a tacky interview. What do you really want to talk about? I’m not here to [talk] about messy sh*t.

I suppose we’re in the wrong for wanting to defend a woman who was in an abusive relationship and worrying that she may actually go back to her attacker.

Yeah, we’re in the wrong.

Also from the interview:

Esquire: Some people felt it sent the wrong message.

Rihanna: [Angrily] What was that? What message would that be?

Esquire: You’d gone back to someone who put you in the hospital.

Rihanna: [Getting angry] Oh really? Did I?

Esquire: Well… yes.

Rihanna: Did I? Did I? Did I?

Esquire: You went and recorded with him, yes.

Rihanna: Okay. In a completely professional environment. And on a complete professional note. I mean, if I went back to him [as a girlfriend], then that’s a whole different discussion. And if I ever do, then that’s something that y’all have to talk to me about when – if – that ever happens. Until then, look at it for what it is. I think a lot of people jumped to an assumption that was incorrect and they ended up looking stupid.

Esquire: The assumption you were dating again?

Rihanna: Because of a song. How stupid. If I was together with every collaborator I worked with… f-ck my life.

Esquire: Still, the lyrics didn’t do much to dispel that impression. His opening line is “Girl I want to fuck you right now/been a long time/I’ve been missing your body”. You reply: “Remember how you did it/If you still want to kiss it/Then come and get it”.

Rihanna: That was the tone before he was even on the record. You think it was going to be about hopscotch or jump rope?

Esquire: So neither of you for a minute thought “This is going to put the cat among the pigeons”?

Rihanna: I could never see anything wrong with making music.

You know what? She has a point: there is nothing wrong with making music; we all enjoy it and truth be told, I liked the song “Birthday Cake” and it’s remix with Chris.

But does anyone remember her interview from 20/20 where she said she couldn’t be the type of person in the spotlight who gave girls the wrong impression about being with an abuser? How about the whole message of “Love The Way You Lie”?

You can’t have it both ways, Ri-ri. Even your record company was rumored not to want anything to with this.

But thanks for showing why people really shouldn’t be looking up to your messy self.

Madonna Shows Her MDNA

Who wants some 53-year-old boob on their Sunday afternoon?

This past weekend during a tour stop in Indonesia to support her failing “MDNA” album, Madonna decided to shake things up when an accidental boob flash turned into an outright show of it. A video recorded via cell phone shows the singer grabbing a strap of her bra and “expressing” herself after the slip.

No, Madonna. Just….no.

If you want to skip right to the good stuff (or past it so your eyes don’t implode), it starts right around the 2:51 mark. This is NSFW, of course.

In other Madonna news:
