Methinks the Queen doth protest too much.

Well, me-knows… or whatever.

After rumors spread like wildfire last month that Queen Latifah decided to use heading the Long Beach LGBT Pride Parade as her official coming out, the singer/rapper/actress decided to set the record straight (pun somewhat intended) with EW:

“That definitely wasn’t the case… I’ve never dealt with the question of my personal life in public. It’s just not gonna happen.”

Rather than just let the subject drop on something that shouldn’t need explaining, she rambled on and on about her love for the LGBT community, all while keeping herself in her proverbial glass closet:

“I know that the most important thing and the only thing I have to give is love. When people are going through hatred and bullying, the biggest thing to fight that is love,” she says. “So that’s all I encouraged my audience to do that night: to share their light and share their love. Period.”

Here’s the thing, Big ‘Tif: if you’re seriously as straight as you say you are (and I’m holding back the laughter as I type this), you don’t need to proclaim it so loudly and proudly, so to speak. We respect what you’re trying to do, but seriously, you’re not really fooling anyone here.

Nice try, though.

Queen Latifah is set to appear in the remake of “Steel Magnolias” with an all-black cast later this year for Lifetime.

You know: television for women.

Uh-huh.
