The mystery surrounding the curious nature in which Whitney Houston died at 48 years old in her hotel room on the eve of the Grammy Awards has been officially solved: She was on cocaine high as a kite, according to the L.A. County Corner’s investigation.
The finding released today shows that the cause of death was an accidental drowning after becoming unconscious in a bathtub, and it also revealed that she used cocaine “immediately prior to her collapse.”
TMZ reports:
The L.A. County Coroner has just released the singer’s official cause of death — accidental drowning — but added … there was evidence of cocaine in her system when she died.
As we previously reported, Whitney was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel last month and several pills were found on the scene — including Xanax, Ibuprofen, and Midol.
