Legendary blues singer Etta James is dead at 73 after losing a battle with leukemia.
Her longtime friend and manager Lupe De Leon told CNN: “This is a tremendous loss for the family, her friends and fans around the world. She was a true original who could sing it all – her music defied category.”
The “At Last” songstress won six Grammys among many other awards in her long career. She once said: “When I’m singing the blues, I’m singing life.”
