Looks like the party may soon be over for Hollywood’s reigning king and queen Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The couple, who have approximately 300 children, are facing the prospect of marriage at the request of an unlikely group of people – their kids.

According to the couple, children Zahara, Knox, Maddox, Shiloh, Pax, Vivienne, Posh, Scary, Sporty, Bert, Ernie, Ross, Rachel, Monica, Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte have been asking mommy Angelina why she isn’t married to daddy Brad. (Hint: she’s totally a Samantha.)

Jolie tells Nightline, “They have asked, yeah, because… people get married in the movies… Shrek and Fiona are married, you know?” Yes, I think I do know what you mean, Ange. You’re a beautiful woman and Brad is a hideous beast (you said it, not me!).

Pitt famously said back in 2006 that he would not marry until everyone had the right to do so. Therefore, I can’t help but to think that if Brad and Angelina tie the knot now, it means that THEY HATE GAY PEOPLE. There, I said it.

In response to the children’s questions about her marital status, Jolie joked, “I asked them if it was just because they wanted to have a big cake.” I imagine the children’s response was something like this: “This isn’t about cake, Mom. We’re just concerned because ten years ago Dad was with another actress and you were making out with your brother. Maybe y’all should make this official. Also, if we wanted cake, we could have cake –  we’re the f*cking Jolie-Pitts.”

Regardless of the children’s feelings, Jolie seems to be holding her ground under pressure. Her family, she explains, is “the greatest commitment you could possibly have. Once you have six children, you’re committed,” even without marriage.
