Finally we have proof that Britney Spears kinda sorta has a singing voice. Check out her cover of Alanis Morisette favorite You Oughta Know, from the Greensboro, NC leg of her concert tour on Saturday. Not bad, huh? Me likey!!!

I used to love Britney Spears, but then after the ‘Blackout’ period I realized that my love is for her production company. They’re the ones who picks all the amazing songs and they’re the ones who overproduce that voice into something listenable. When I watched her Onyx Hotel tour I saw a woman who was born to entertain, but then on the Circus tour I watched some sloppy ho in a big wig replaced her. She’s become a machine forced into shutting her mouth and performing (as made evident when she lost microphone privileges after stating that her “pussy was hanging out”.)
I feel bad for other fans who haven’t realized this. They cling to videos, like this one, where she sings live and puts on a (somewhat good) performance. They act as if her singing live is something amazing, when in reality it should be something expected from a performer in concert. She no longer puts on the big stage spectacle with great choreography, so what’s her excuse now for not singing live?

But I disagree with everything else, I had the privilege of being at this very concert and it was AMAZING…this was my second time seeing her, I caught her on the first leg of her tour. Most performers can’t hold the attention of an entire stadium like Britney…the Circus tour is a huge spectacle, with alot of things going on at once. But the biggest draw is the women in the center, when Ms. Spears said she was the ringleader she wasn’t lying.
If she comes to a town near you, I implore you to purchase some tickets and go see her, trust me you wont be disappointed.
are u serious? beyonce’s is MILES better. the song fits britney’s image and audience more but beyonce def had the vocals to deliver the song.
It’s Beyonce’s world and all these other lame performers are just living in it! Britney used to be a great performer, but she is done. I agree with Kevin we should all be in love with her production company. I would never pay money to go and watch Britney lip synch.
